Come and learn more about Jonathan and his journey in our second Speaker Series of the Spring 2025 Semester. Jonathan Gjemso is a first-generation Latino engineer, researcher, and designer with a strong foundation in both mechanical and nuclear engineering. Throughout his career, Jonathan has collaborated with high-profile companies, technology startups, and national laboratory teams, consistently striving to develop solutions with integrity, ingenuity, and passion. Jon is part of the team at the National Ignition Ignition Facility (NIF) responsible for the Ignition breakthrough in 2022, and currently works on designing systems that will enable the next generation of Nuclear Fusion experiments.
